What user permissions can I grant?
As of June 2024, Statuspage has added Atlassian billing admin user role as one of the key permissions. Existing users will retain their status as billing admins, while new users will be assigned the new roles, ensuring a more transparent and accountable billing process.
The below table highlights all 3 levels of access within Statuspage and the actions permitted for each role:
Workflow | Billing admin | Site admin | Product user |
---|---|---|---|
Create a page | |||
Switch page type | |||
Upgrade/Downgrade a plan | |||
Cancel a page subscription | |||
Reactivate the subscription | |||
View invoice history | |||
Download invoices | |||
View ship to address | |||
View payment method | |||
Add more payment methods | |||
Add/edit the ship to address | |||
Add / Remove invoice recipients |
Billing permissions in Statuspage are not strictly linked to product roles, allowing any user, including Statuspage product admins, to receive billing admin permissions if granted through the billing console.
Newly added users will have specific default billing permissions:
The person who signs up for a new Statuspage will automatically receive a Billing admin role for all statuspage entitlements.
Additionally, new Statuspage product admins and product users who are not Site admins will be categorized as product users mentioned above by default.
There are also some actions permitted for product admins and users:
Action | Product user | Product admin |
---|---|---|
Manage billing | ||
Create new pages | ||
Delete pages | ||
Access API keys | ||
Manage user’s page and role permissions | ||
Create and manage incidents | ||
Create and manage maintenances | ||
View and manage components | ||
View and manage subscribers | ||

View user permissions
To view any user's permissions, navigate to the Users page.
Select your avatar in the top right of the Statuspage management.
Select Users from the menu that appears.
User emails with product admin privileges will be marked with a label. Only site admins can change the level of access for a user through a separate Atlassian admin site. Find out how to do this in Atlassian admin. Additionally, site admins can invite new users. Product users' access may be further refined through advanced page permissions.
Some other things to consider
When users are invited through Statuspage, they'll be granted the “Product user” role by default. When users are invited through admin.atlassian.com, the inviter will have the option of adding them to a group with Statuspage Product admin access.
